A Homecoming Celebration

Leamarado Days began in 1946. Leamington residents planned a homecoming celebration for World War II soldiers. The celebration was held on Labor Day. There was a program in the morning, a barbecue in the afternoon, and a dance in the evening.

The name "Leamarado Days" is a playful blend of "Leamington" and "Colorado"

From Veterans to Town Tradition

The following year, the veterans decided to give the party, and it was successful. To this day, Leamarado Days continues to draw many back to their hometown, as well as many others. The annual event is held each year on Labor Day at the Leamington Town Hall. It begins with a talent show program at 10 o’clock a.m.; followed by a lunch at noon; kid’s games and races at 2 p.m.; and a rodeo at 3:30 p.m. Throughout the day, the Leamington museum is opened, which is located in the basement of the Leamington Town Hall.
